We can all learn from Guernsey

Mon, 06 Feb 2012

I was delighted to be invited in my capacity as Chairman and representative of the International Island Games Association, to the 2011 Guernsey Sporting Achievements Awards recently held on 18th January 2012.

Whilst I was there I took the opportunity to extend our joint congratulations to the Guernsey Team on their success at the NatWest Island Games last summer in the Isle of Wight - as you know they ended up at the top of the medal table!   I am not surprised.  Guernsey has been dedicated to sport for many years and continues to be one of the most influential member islands in our family.

Now they are preparing for the trip to the NatWest Island Games in Bermuda and will no doubt do their utmost to repeat their success at the last Games!  However this will not be as easy as there are many islanders who have been inspired by Guernsey's success and will be trying even harder next time!
