Pause For Easter, Plan Ahead

In a couple of month's time the International Island Games Association (IIGA) will meet for the NatWest Island Games XIV in the Isle of Wight.  Over 3000 islanders from our 25 Member Islands will bring excitement and sporting skills to the Isle of Wight and via our many media friends to many thousands more that cannot be there.

We will challenge each other to entertain the people at home and develop our islands.  The IIGA was created in 1985 to bring islanders together in friendly competition.  So far the development had been good to us.  The level of both the competition and the number of events have increased.  But, whilst the competition is strong the friendship between our islanders is even stronger.  The IIGA is a unique creation in a large world.  We deal with small islands with large expectations - of life, of sports and of the future.  We are happy with what we have done so far - the IIGA has helped to develop both sports and sportspeople on our Member Islands.  We will continue to do that this summer and in the future.  The people of the Isle of Wight are unique, as are the rest of our islanders.  This is what makes our meetings interesting and inspiring!

See you in the Isle of Wight!
