MERRY CHRISTMAS

Dear Friends,

It feels like only yesterday when we said goodbye to each other at the NatWest Island Games in the Isle of Wight. Likewise, it feels like ages before we will meet again in Bermuda. However this is not true.  Time will fly and sooner than we know we will gather in the colourful and wonderful town of Hamiltion, Bermuda. We will compete in top-class venues. We will enjoy the sun, the Bermudian atmosphere and friendship from all over the world.

The Natwest Island Games will for the first time move from Europe to the other side of the ocean. This will bring diversity, as well as challenges that must be met. I sincerely wish you all the best in your preparations. All of us who live on this side of the ocean will have a longer journey than usual but one that the Bermudians and other member islands have done successfully many times. Now it is our turn to experience the hospitality of Bermuda.

The NatWest Island Games 2013 will bring a new dimension to our beloved Games. It will be a challenge to find the funds. Bit, as always we must encourage our sportspeople to do more, to try harder in order to succeed. The Games in Bermuda will be the experience of a lifetime for many of our athletes. They will compete on an international level far away from home. This will strengthen and make them even more prepared for other challenges to come.

With these words, on behalf of the IIGA, I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.

See you again next year - in Bermuda!

Jorgen
