Happy Easter Everyone!

Planning for the NatWest Island Games XV in Bermuda next year is well on its way. The Organising Committee has worked hard in providing alternatives in regard to both travel and accommodation. The different sporting venues are ready, or will be by the summer, and are of a very high standard.  The Bermudians are ready to work hard in order to make all their fellow islanders feel warmly welcome to their colourful island!

However it is not only the Bermudians that are working hard. Our other 23 Member Islands are also very active with both training and fund-raising. The Games in Bermuda will, for the first time since the beginning in 1985, be organised on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean.  This is in accordance with the Objects of our Association.  We are developing sports within our islands and appreciating the cultual diversity between our Host Islands. Bermuda will as a Host bring new dimensions to our membership.

At their recent meeting in Gotland, Candidate Island for the 2019 Games, the Executive Committee agreed to change the name of the International Island Games Association website to www.iiga.org

We are now taking a few days off to celebrate Easter and enjoy the festivities. After the weekend we will continue our work towards Bermuda and future Games.

Happy Easter!
