IIGA Pater Ludorum Geoffrey Corlett

Although our Pater Ludorum Geoffrey Corlett is now no longer with us we will never forget him or what he has accomplished. Thanks to him, his enthusiasm and hard work, today we have a unique worldwide Association.

Geoff always supported us in our work to develop our Games. He cared for the right reasons - for the love of sport. His friendship will be deeply missed. The fact that we will not see him at the Games will be hard to face. His distinct "Dear Friends, I have just a few words I would like to say...." will not be heard again. His absence will be very painful for every one of us.

We know however that his greatest wish would be for us to move on and continue our work towards an even better future for the children and sportspeople of our Member Islands.

A Tribute to Geoff from all of the IIGA Honorary Life Members can be read here

Geoffrey Corlett never missed a NatWest Island Games. During the Games in Åland Islands 2009 the Faroese Radio Kanal 2 (Channel 2) did one of the last interviews with Geoffrey. The interviewer is Heri Simonsen.
