Happy 60th Anniversary!

Our friends in Greenland are celebrating a 60th Anniversay this weekend.  The Sports Confederation of Greenland has now been actively developing sport for 60 years.  We join the many others who have sent their congratulations on this wonderful achievement.

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank Greenland for being a very important part of our IIGA family.

The following formal letter of congratulations has been sent on behalf of the IIGA:

Re: 60th Anniversary – 27th September 2013

Congratulations Greenland!

On behalf of all your friends in the International Island Games Association (IIGA) family, we would like to send our congratulations to you all for the past 60 years and the infinity which defines the future.

Greenland has been a part of the IIGA family since 1989, and has enthusiastically contributed to the success of the movement that has brought islanders together in sport and friendship. Greenland and its sportspeople are very much appreciated in our family. You have brought in sporting elegance, competitive friendship and caring responsibility. You have given your fellow islanders the best of gifts. You have tried to become better and have become an inspiration for them to try even harder.

To the Sports Confederation of Greenland we therefore want not only to congratulate you on an important anniversary; but to thank you for your on-going and genuine support in our work towards a future where sport makes a difference in our island lives by creating opportunities for our young people and friendships for life.

Yours faithfully,

INTERNATIONAL ISLAND GAMES ASSOCIATION

Jorgen Peterssen, Chairman IIGA
Kay Batty, General Secretary IIGA
