Time to Relax and Enjoy

It feels like only yesterday that we met in Bermuda for the NatWest Island Games XV.  Our memories are great and still fresh in our minds and we still feel a little bit more Bermudian. The level of our sports has never been higher and it will continue to rise. Because of the success of that event we are now looking forward to the NatWest Island Games in Jersey in 2015. However before the Games take place in Jersey we will all meet there next summer to see the progress that has been made towards hosting what will be one of the largest multi-sport events in 2015.

The International Island Games Association, formed following the first Games in the Isle of Man in 1985, is stronger today than ever.  After the Games in Jersey in 2015 we will move onto Gotland in 2017 and, if the Membership so decide, to the Faroe Islands in 2019 and Menorca in 2021.

The willingness to take responsibility for our beloved Association has now grown further with the Orkney Islands launching their official Intent to Bid for the Games in 2023.  this is great news and an inspiration to us all.

But for now I have the pleasure to wish you all a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Take care of yourselves and your families, relax and enjoy the Festive Season so we will all be ready for new challenges next year.
