Welcome 2010!
I hope you all enjoyed the Christmas and New Year festivities with a few days holiday from work and training. No matter how much we enjoy our work/training we all need to rest sometimes.
However it is now time to move on and to look to the future. Your local Island Games Associations will have received the 'Future of the Games Report' which the IIGA Executive Committee produced in order to continue the ongoing refinement of the NatWest Island Games. This was circulated to the Membership because we wish to hear as many views on the different issues included in the Report as possible, and would ask that you contact your local Association to pass on your views, so that your delegates to the AGM can come to the Isle of Wight this summer prepared for a full debate. This is not an easy subject and indeed it should not be so. But we as the Executive Committee want everyone to be aware of the different options that are available to us to move our Games forward. So, we are asking all of our Member Associations: "What are your views/thoughts about the future of our Games"?
Currently we are preparing for the Spring Meeting of the Executive, which this year will be held in March in the Isle of Man. Please do not hesitate to contact either our General Secretary Kay, in the IIGA office or indeed any of the EC Members should you have anything you would like us to discuss.
We are here to work for the benefit of you all as well as the International Island Games Association.
